Introduction to Undergraduate English Literature and Creative Writing Degrees

Head of Department's welcome

As a leading department focused on both literary study and creative writing, innovative and dedicated teaching is informed by award-winning writing and outstanding scholarship - our staff includes Terry Eagleton, one of the world’s most famous literary critics, and Paul Muldoon, one of the world’s most eminent poets.  All this, together with the high calibre of our students, ensures a dynamic environment for undergraduates and postgraduates alike. Our high standing is reflected in our being 14th in The Complete University Guide, and in the Top 10 (9th) for Graduate Prospects.

We hope this website will begin to introduce you to us as a Department.  Read more»
