If you are thinking of applying to study English Literature or Creative Writing at university, you may find it useful to get some first-hand experience of what it is like to study these subjects at undergraduate level. We offer two events in the course of the year that enable you to do this:
In February, the Department of English and Creative Writing is running a Taster Day where you can attend a literature seminar or creative writing workshop on campus, as well as having a tour of the campus with some of our current students. Find out more»
In July, you can participate in a Taster Day organised by a whole range of departments at the University, so that as well as experiencing sample sessions in English Literature or Creative Writing, you could take part in (for example) a History, Philosophy or Sociology session. You will also get an introduction to life at Lancaster, have a tour of the campus, and have the chance to talk to some current students.
Information about the July taster day will be posted in due course.
There is no charge for either of these events.
If you already hold an offer for 2014 entry you can visit us in February or March.
Visitors are of course welcome on the University campus at any time, though you are welcome to contact us to let us know that you are coming if you wish.
See our visiting the university webpages for further information.
'Being Here' is a newsletter for undergraduate applicants to the Department of English and Creative Writing.
