Matthew Farmer

Research Student, Associate Lecturer

County South
Lancaster University
United Kingdom

Location: B11
Office hours: Thursdays 4pm - 5pm

I am primarily interested in the relationships between the rights of LGBT* people in the global South and Western development interventions, particularly with regards to how sexuality is constructed and problematised around notions of gender, race and national identity, and how historical discourses rooted in colonialism contribute to contemporary debates about sexuality in development. I am using the UK and Uganda as case studies in my research.
