The Department of History at Lancaster University welcomes expressions of interest from early career researchers seeking support to apply to the Leverhulme Trust’s Early Career Fellowships Scheme.
The Scheme supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers, with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post, to undertake a significant piece of publishable work. Fellowships are tenable for 3 years on a full-time basis.
The Department offers an excellent environment for historical research, and is currently ranked in the top ten History Departments in the United Kingdom in the three main league tables. Our interests range widely, from the ancient to the modern, and from the regional to the global.
Potential applicants should approach a member of staff in the Department to act as their mentor and assist them with the preparation of their application. To apply, you need to submit a complete Leverhulme application form and a CV to the History Department by the deadline of 5pm Friday 11 January 2019. Please email these to Dr James Taylor, Director of Research for History, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Incomplete or late applications, or applications which do not have the support of a mentor in the Department, will not be eligible for consideration.
