From 2 to 7 September, Dr Marco Wyss attended the XLIV Congress of the International Commission of Military History (ICMH) in Israel on the theme “The Creation of New States and the Collapse of Old Empires in the XXth Century”. In addition to presenting a paper on the postcolonial security relationship between Côte d’Ivoire and France, Marco chaired the meeting of the Bibliographical Committee of the ICMH, of which he is the president, chaired a panel, and addressed the ICMH’s General Assembly on the progress and successes of the commission’s flagship publication, the International Journal of Military History and Historiography, of which he is the Editor-in-Chief. In addition to an academic programme, the conference also contained a cultural and military programme, which included visits to military bases and museums, Tel Aviv, Jaffa, Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea.
