Using the Application Jukebox service from ISS you can run University software on any Windows PC or laptop on-demand (without needing to install each software title). The hardware that supports your personal file store (H: Drive) has been upgraded to support faster access and increased resilience. During the weekend of the 19th September all data will be moved over to this new hardware. The University has a new site license for Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe Creative Cloud includes Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere and many other applications. The laptop dispenser in the Learning Zone will be unable to loan out University laptops from 1.00pm on Saturday 16 November to 8.30am on Monday 18 November.
If you book out a laptop before 1.00pm on Saturday 16th, you will still be able to return it as normal at any time during your 3 hour loan period.
This is due to upgrades to the Library booking out system.

ISS is aware of some issues with accessing ISS Services from the new Mac operating system 'OSX 10.9 Mavericks'. We know the current version of Symantec Endpoint Protection does not work on OSX 10.9. Until most key software has been tested, and where appropriate patches installed, ISS advises users to delay upgrading to Mac OSX 10.9 Mavericks.more »

A number of Apple Mac users may be experiencing problems connecting to printers on campus. The issue appears to be with Mac software's inability to automatically find printers on the network. ISS staff are working with Apple to try to resolve the issues, and working on guidance for users to enable them to connect to the printers in a different way. Anyone experiencing problems should contact the ISS Service Desk who will be able to point you to potential solutions as soon as they are available.more »

The server for: IUS, MATLAB, GAUSS, Maple versions 10 to 13, IDL and ArcGIS failed due to hardware failure on the weekend (11/11/12). Due the the licence server unavailability, some of the software, including MATLAB, will not function. more »

There is an un-patched vulnerability in the Acrobat Reader PDF system that could allow infected PDFs to infect your PC with a damaging Trojan.
ISS advises users to be more cautious than usual when opening unsolicited PDFs in email or online.more »
Friday 9th Nov - Mail delivery to AOL email addresses is now OK.
Due to a 'Trojan' infected PC sending out Spam to AOL addresses, the University has been blocked by AOL. Delays in outgoing mail to AOL are being experienced by users. Users will get an error message back if their email has not been delivered to an AOL address.
Users are reminded to be careful about clicking on unknown links in emails and opening/downloading attachments in suspect emails.more »
