If you are sponsored, then you will need to provide proof of sponsorship before Registration. Invoices can’t be raised to any sponsor until you provide a statement from your sponsor confirming their sponsorship. Proof should come in the form of a statement on letter headed paper, which you can scan and email to the University. Your proof of sponsorship letter should include:

Instalment payments are not available for these programmes, as full fees must be paid before the start date of each module.
Lancaster University, like other Universities, may increase the fee for your programme in each year after your first year of study.
To give you clarity we set out what those increases will be, usually as a guaranteed maximum percentage increase.
In some cases the fee increase after your first year of study is determined by, or in relation to, an external body. In that case we will tell you what that increase was for the last year and what the average increase was over a period of time, in order that you can make an informed decision about possible future fee increases.
The information below sets out for students commencing study in the year stated, how their fee will change in subsequent years of study. These changes apply to all full-time and part-time, on campus, online and blended programmes.
Tuition fees for postgraduate taught students will not rise by more than 4% per annum over the standard time required to complete your programme.
Fees can be paid before registration, the issue of an invoice or start of future modules. Any amounts paid in advance of an invoice will not be reflected on the invoice. These can be seen on the Payment Portal.

A deposit is required to secure your place on these online programmes.
We will let you know in the offer letter the deposit amount due and you will be given a deadline date when this is due to be paid.
Any deposit that you pay will be credited to your fee account at Lancaster University and will be deducted from the total fee payable at registration. Interest is not paid.
If we do not receive a valid deposit payment to the value in pound sterling (GBP) stated in the offer by the deadline date, we will not be able to guarantee you a place on your chosen course of study.

If you have a Lancaster University IT account use the "pay as a student, staff or applicant" option which will allow you to log in using your account details. If you have not received your Lancaster IT account details you can still pay using the "pay on behalf of a Student or Applicant" option, in which case you will need your student ID, which is sent to you via email once the time comes to pay your deposit.

Deposit refund requests must be submitted by email or in writing no later than 7 days after the start date of your programme.
To be considered, all refund requests must be supported by appropriate documentary evidence, which may be subject to verification. Documentation which is not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.
Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any approved refunds may be subject to an administration fee to cover processing costs.
Any deposits that are refunded will only be refunded to the account they were paid from.

Any new student who withdraws and has a recorded date of last study / attendance within 7 days following the start of the module will not be liable for any tuition fees.
Students with a last date of study / attendance beyond Week 1, will become liable for the full module tuition fee. Where tuition fees have been settled in advance, any future modules that have not started will be refunded in full.
If the student is sponsored, the sponsor will be liable for the fee, or their proportion as per the sponsor agreement, in line with the above policy. In the event that the sponsor refuses to pay, the student will also become liable for the sponsor’s liability also.
Please note sponsored students must provide the University with a copy of their sponsorship confirmation letter. If the University does not have proof of sponsorship, the student will be treated as ‘self-funded’.
