Lancaster University Pre-School Centre has again been assessed as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.

The Pre-School Centre provides high quality early years care and education for over 200 children of students, staff and the local community between the age of three months and five years.

Lancaster University Pre-School Centre Manager Adele Stewart said: “I am extremely proud with the effort and hard work of the whole team. They have met all the challenges, set by both myself and the government and this is a great way for it to be recognised.

"This judgement is testimony to their loyalty, professionalism and dedication in delivering the best for every child and family. We are now busy planning an ‘Outstanding’ party to celebrate the success with the children.”

The Ofsted report highlights:

  • An extremely motivated staff team who are supported by an enthusiastic leadership team who provide high quality supervision and a programme of professional development which continually enhances the already excellent practice.
  • Children flourish in this setting due to the exemplary care they receive. All aspects of their welfare and development are promoted to a high standard, therefore, children make excellent progress in their development
  • Children’s learning is enhanced by excellent use and deployment of high quality resources and a stimulating environment. In addition, highly knowledgeable staff ably support children’s learning.

Adele said: "The inspection took place over a full day enabling the inspector to observe all aspects of the Centre, speaking in depth to all staff and interviewing a number of parents. This gave a genuine insight into the consistently high quality early years care and education that we all individually aspire to achieve."
