Lancaster University has confirmed its place among the world’s elite institutions with 17 subjects featured in this year's QS World University Rankings by Subject.

3,002 universities were evaluated and 689 institutions were ranked in total.

Linguistics (9th), Sociology (26th), Accounting and Finance (46th) and Geography (49th) at Lancaster are subjects judged to be in the top 50 in the world.

Six more subjects are ranked in the top 15% in the world – these are English, Statistics and Operations Research, Modern Languages, Environmental Science, Media and Culture and Educational Research.
