Michel Foucault: The Labour of Subjectivation

The thesis focuses on the political-economic production of subjectivity in the modern age. Employing a genealogical method, it isolates the defining characteristics of the modern ‘bioeconomic apparatus’ and, in particular, the forms of subjection by which it has been enacted in the Western world. It further interrogates Michel Foucault’s critical project in relation to the history and technologies of power characteristic of this dispositif.
