Lancaster University Accommodation

Bowland College accommodation is located on the north side of campus, close to the major academic support facilities and the Arts, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Chemistry and Physics departments. Additionally the Library, lecture theatres, the Learning Zone, retail outlets and Alexandra Square are all within a short walk from our residences. We have approximately 650 study rooms on campus and a broad range of room type.

All study rooms have a bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, bookshelves, drawers and coats hooks, and are fully carpeted and curtained. Students are expected to bring their own bedding, towels, cooking utensils, crockery, tea towels and cleaning items. All rooms are Wi-Fi enabled. Smoking (including e-cigarettes and vapes) is prohibited in all university buildings, including residences.

Bowland Main, Bowland South and Bowland East

This accommodation is located within three different blocks, all situated centrally, with Bowland Main attached to the college administrative building and Bowland South and Bowland East located in Alexandra Square, which is the main hub of campus activity.

Ash House

These flats are located in Bowland North, and have large communal kitchen/seating spaces.

Bowland Halls

These blocks are located around the perimeter road within 15 houses, each containing 4 flats with each flat sharing a kitchen.

Slaidburn House

This accommodation is above the Spar shop and overlooks Edward Roberts Court, which houses some of the main eateries on campus. The accommodation located over 4 floors, each containing 16 rooms and two kitchens.

Bowland Tower

Bowland Tower is an iconic building at the heart of campus. The accommodation occupies 11 floors, mostly with 5 bedrooms per floor and with a good size communal kitchen/seating area.
