Michale Hulme's lecture - 'Machines That Become Us'
Date: 14 March 2007 Time: 6.00 pm
Many academics and futurologists have looked toward a future where humans and computing power merge to become as one. This discussion normally focuses on future developments in nano and bio-technologies. However in this talk I will suggest that current technologies of communication and data transfer are already creating this future, all be it in a less invasive and more prosaic manner, and that central to this is the relationship between devices 'fixed' to the body moving through increasingly intelligent environmental architectures.
