Culture Colloquium

We will be discussing two texts by Andrew Sayer, which offer a 'political economy' approach to culture, an approach which has not been discussed very much in recent sessions.. This will be a collective discussion, rather than 'led' by one particular person. So please come prepared with any question, comment, point of discussion, etc. that you would like to address with the group. Both texts are available on the department website. Photocopies are also available in Claire's office, in the CC folder. 'Critical and uncritical cultural turns' http://www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/sociology/soc017as.html - 'Valuing culture and economy': http://www.comp.lancs.ac.uk/sociology/soc023as.html
