The first in the series of three groundbreaking webcast concerts is now available to view online for free at www.lancasterconcerts.co.uk. This offers an excellent opportunity to sample the works of two seminal Hungarian composers in a selection of pieces that are fascinated by the interplay between music and vocals. It also offers a rare chance to hear work by young Manchester based composer Larry Goves.
The second concert - BBC Singers and Psappha performing the works of Claude Vivier - will be filmed this Thursday for broadcast online and on BBC Radio 3. Tickets for this concert are still available at the box office - 01524 - 594151.
Further information about the concert, and about the dark and fascinating life of the composer are available at LUNews:
There is also an excellent article in The Guardian discussing the life of Vivier and previewing the concert: http://arts.guardian.co.uk/filmandmusic/story/0,,2258491,00.html
The final webcast concert - Psappha Commissions -will be performed and filmed on Saturday 8th March @ 7.30pm.
