Thinking Style, Behaviour, Mood & Recovery in Bipolar Disorder

Background

There is increasing evidence that the way in which people with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder think about and respond to their experiences has an impact on outcomes including mood, functioning, and recovery. Understanding the links between these psychological processes and clinical outcomes is important to inform psychological interventions for bipolar disorder.

Aims

We are exploring relationships between thinking style, responses to mood, positive experiences of mood swings, inspiration, mood and recovery. We will also be investigating the reliability and validity of several measures of these processes.

What does taking part involve?

You will be asked to complete a series of questionnaires on thinking style, behaviour, mood & recovery. Questionnaires can be completed either online or via post. We will also ask some people to take part in an interview about their mood experiences after completing the questionnaires.
