Dr. Delphine Grass is the invited keynote speaker of the 4th Annual Conference of the Translation Studies Network of Ireland (TSNI 2024) which will be held at the University of Galway on April 25th and 26th. This year, the theme of the conference is “Translation and Creativity” (An tAistriúchán & an Chruthaitheacht).

Dr. Grass keynote entitled “Undisciplined: Translation as Creative-Critical Practice’s Rebellious Cartographies” will be held as the opening event of the 2-day conference. Her keynote is based around her recently published book Translation as Creative-Critical Practice (CUP, 2023), which deconstructs the boundaries between practice and theory in translation studies by analysing creative-critical translation’s theoretical engagement with translation norms, geographies and ideologies. Her work in this area is gaining increased international recognition across the fields of translation studies, art practice and creative critical writing and she has been invited to speak about her work at various events over the past few months, including at the University of Paris VIII, Cambridge University, Queen Mary University, as well as at the Experiential Translation Network.

The TSNI 2024 conference date also coincides with the 39th Cúirt International Festival of Literature which takes place in Galway from April 23-28.
