Join the Work Foundation and a panel of experts to review the latest labour market statistics and inflation data from the Office for National Statistics, and what it means for workers, businesses and communities ahead of the Autumn Statement 2023.

Pay growth is rising at record levels as some workers are starting to see above inflation increases for the first time in two years, but many workers are still struggling to make ends meet and are looking down the barrel of an extremely challenging winter.

With inflation and interest rates still at high levels – and record long-term sickness driving worker shortages – the Government is under pressure to act. At the recent Conservative Party Conference, the Prime Minister and the Chancellor indicated a two-pronged approach – raising the National Living Wage, while further increasing the spectre of punitive welfare sanctions on those deemed able to work. But given the nature of the challenges we face, will this be enough to support workers and employers in economically challenging times?

Join the Work Foundation and a panel of experts to review the latest labour market statistics and inflation data from the Office for National Statistics, and what it means for workers, businesses and communities ahead of the Autumn Statement 2023.
