Welcome Week

Welcome Week takes place in the week before the start of term. It is a period of time before lectures officially start where you can orientate yourself on campus, settle into your accommodation, find your way around campus and get settled before term starts. During the week there are a range of compulsory and optional events, both academic and social to help you build friendships and networks both in your college and in your academic department.

You can find out what is planned via the University’s Welcome Week website which will be available to view once events are finalised. You can also browse the Welcome Week schedule via the iLancaster app.

College facilities

At the heart of Bowland is our student common room. This is a combined study and social space, used for events and activities throughout the year and includes recreational items such as a pool table, dart boards, table tennis and boxed games. Many students use the space to study, eat lunch or to catch up with friends.
