Community Day 2017
Lancaster University's second Community Day took place on Saturday 6th May 2017. Thank you very much to everyone who joined in and made it a day to remember.
Community Day in numbers
2,000 visitors of all ages joined us on campus
187 people told us what they thought of the day, with 98% of them saying they enjoyed the Community Day and 84% saying they learned something new
100+ student ambassadors helped run activities and show guests around the campus
98% of people who completed our survey said they felt Lancaster makes a positive contribution to the local community
80+ different activities took place on the day, ranging from trampolining demonstrations to 3D tours of the human body
48 staff members volunteered their time to look after guests and student staff on the day
26 external organisations took part in the day. These organisations include charities such as East Meets West and Piccadilly Gardens, local businesses such as the Kaizen Academy and Filbert’s Bakery and members of the emergency services.
4-legged animals are not usually allowed on campus, but the Lancashire Police Dogs drew a great crowd for their display
