Chancellor's Wharf
Chancellor's Wharf is our halls in the city, offering 244 study bedrooms in a canalside setting on the edge of the city centre.
The three blocks of accommodation provide standard rooms with washbasins for students sharing in groups of 5-13, and many have balconies overlooking the Lancaster Canal. All the shops and amenities are just a few minutes' walk away and frequent busses travel to and from campus from the stop at the Infirmary, jut along the towpath.

Who can live at Chancellor's Wharf?
Chancellor's Wharf is available to Lancaster students from all colleges after year one. You can bring your friends with you or make new ones when you arrive.

What services and facilities are there?
Chancellor's Wharf is managed in the same way our campus accommodation is managed, so you will still benefit from a dedicated Accommodation Manager and Security officers. There's a brand new reception that offers 24-hour mail collection and a networked printer, a newly expanded laundrette and a common room at the top of each of the buildings where you can socialise with others. Those in Wyre and Lune Houses have Smart TVs and soft seating, with Kent House having a pool table and soft seating.
Your accommodation fees are inclusive of heating and electricity, access to the University network and high-speed internet, and your contents are insured to the value of £10,000. See our insurer's website for details.
Basic cleaning service of all communal areas is also included.

What's the cost?
The weekly rate for 2024/25 is £134.47, and the contract length is approximately 43 weeks.

How can I apply?
Students going into year 2 and beyond can submit an application via the accommodation portal in the same way you would apply to live on-campus as a returner.
If you want to live with friends you should nominate a group leader and each insert that in your application.
