Degree: Full-time MBA, 2014

Before joining the Lancaster MBA, I was working in project, programme and management consultancy focused on the construction and engineering sector. I enrolled onto the MBA as I wanted to learn about ‘strategy’ and this is one of the key reasons why I chose the Lancaster MBA. The strategy department has an excellent reputation and is interwoven throughout the course, from the taught modules to the real life projects we had throughout the year. For example in the Corporate Challenge a number of the class were advising national and international organisations on matters regarding their brand strategy, business strategy and acquisition strategy. Applying what we learned in case studies and real life projects was one of the features I enjoyed most about the MBA.

Of course I also greatly enjoyed the trips to Singapore, Malaysia and Paris. Being a relatively small class compared to other MBA programmes it was easy to get to know each other and form close friendships, which meant that all trips were great fun!

The Lancaster MBA has provided me with a more complete knowledge of business from subjects such as accounting, mergers & acquisitions to strategic brand management etc. As well as deepening my knowledge about core business subjects, I also found that the small cohort aided learning from my fellow colleagues and their experiences. The programme facilitates many opportunities for further learning.

Now that I have finished my MBA, I am on a three-month exchange programme at HSG (University of St Gallen in Switzerland), where I am sitting additional modules in subjects such as Corporate Governance, Entrepreneurship and Investment Banking.

If I was to sum up the Lancaster MBA in five words it would be: intense, fun and highly rewarding.
