Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

I studied BA Economics and Politics at Lancaster before choosing to stay on to complete a Master's course. I knew that LUMS had friendly, knowledgeable lecturers and was a supportive place to study.

What was the best thing about your course?

My course modules were split between LUMS and the Politics, Philosophy and Religion department. This cross-departmental way of studying gave me a strong overview of a diverse range of topics.

Describe your time at LUMS in three words.

Engaging, supportive, diverse.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

During my Master's course, I was also a student trustee for Lancaster University Students' Union (LUSU). This gave me a really interesting insight into how the students' union works and was a great way to contribute to improving the student experience at Lancaster.

What are the best things about living in the Lancaster area?

Lancaster is a great city with a wide range of bars, shops and cafés. I also love the easy access to nature that Lancaster offers, with Williamson Park close to the city centre and the Lake District a short drive or bus ride away.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

LUMS careers service helped me to prepare for assessment centres and interviews, which made me feel a lot more confident applying for jobs and going through the recruitment process.

What impact has your Lancaster experience had on your career?

Lancaster has prepared me well for working in a large organisation and feeling confident in my abilities.
