Why did you choose to study at LUMS?

I was drawn to the MSc Business Analytics course at LUMS because its structure aligned perfectly with what I was seeking, and overall, LUMS has a good reputation in the UK.

What was the best thing about your course?

I liked my course because it offered a perfect mix of theoretical knowledge and real-world application. Through challenging assignments and industrial dissertation, I got a taste of the diverse challenges faced in real business world. In addition to this, the coding oriented subjects were structured ensuring that students like me, with almost no coding experience grasped the basics effectively, which really helped me.

What/who inspired you the most at LUMS and why?

I was most inspired by my forecasting professor, Mr. John Boylan, because his teaching method was a bit different as compared to other professor as he never handed me answers directly. Instead, he encouraged me to think critically and deeply about my approaches. His method challenged me to explore my answers independently, which contributed significantly to my success in his subject.

Did you do a project, placement or study abroad? What did this involveand what did you gain?

My industrial dissertation involved collaborating closely with a small-scale business, where I created machine learning-based demand forecasting model to assist them in inventory and resource planning. It was a great experience as I applied the skills I learned throughout my course to address real business challenges for the first time.

What are your best memories of your time at Lancaster?

The long walks, nature's beauty and peace of mind.

Which parts of your Lancaster experience were the best preparation for your job?

The industrial dissertation and the challenging case studies really helped me to prepare for my job. I got a realistic idea about the different types of challenges in the business world related to flow, security and quality of data. It gave me a good idea to understand the level of skills required to get a good job, so I spent additional hours learning industry specific professional tools using the University's learning portal.
