Lancaster University Management School Master’s students proved the value of their education as they provided valuable insights for some of the world’s best-known companies.

Students on the MSc Digital Business, Innovation and Management (DBIM) programme worked with IBM, and Porsche, among other firms, on their consultancy dissertation projects.

The students work with clients on live projects and produce white-paper reports. Two groups worked with IBM and one with Porsche and Gazelle Book Services, receiving positive feedback from the multinational companies for their endeavours.

DBIM programme director Dr Uzair Shah said: “We have received excellent feedback from the clients on the students’ work. The reports they produced provided the businesses with new insights that add to their thought processes and understanding of the business-related challenges they face.

“Working with these businesses on the consultancy dissertations strengthens our relationships and provides them with the opportunity to implement changes to improve business processes and offerings. One client invited the students to a meeting with their global team to share the recommendations they drew up through their projects.”

The team at IBM were particularly impressed with the teams they worked with, saying: “It was a pleasure to collaborate with Milica and Ashna (the DBIM students) – the insights in their report will have a beneficial impact on the Adobe and IBM partnership’s work with clients. We will definitely look to collaborate with Lancaster in the future.”

They added: “The feedback from all stakeholders who engaged with Ashna and Milica was excellent – a credit to Lancaster University Management School.”
