LUMS academic is the joint winner of a prestigious research award
Professor Kevin Glazebrook has this week received his award after he and co-authors Professor Kyle Lin and Professor Michael Atkinson were named winners of the 2017 Harold W. Kuhn Award, for their paper “Optimal patrol to uncover threats in time when detection is imperfect”.
The Harold W. Kuhn Award is presented annually to the authors of an exceptional paper published in Naval Research Logistics. Professor Glazebrook’s paper was singled out from all papers published between 2014 and 2017 by a committee of Associate Editors.
Professor Glazebrook said: “Lancaster's STOR-I Centre for Doctoral Training has a longstanding strategic partnership with the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA. My co-authors Kyle Lin and Mike Atkinson both have strong Lancaster connections, being NPS faculty currently co-supervising STOR-I students. We are all delighted to receive this prestigious award.”
Professor Glazebrook also received a LUMS Dean’s Award for Researcher of the Year.
