The PgCert in Ecology and Conservation is designed to provide you with a flexible choice of postgraduate learning in a wide variety of environmental and ecological subjects, such as water resources, environmental pollution, terrestrial ecology, and other fields. You will acquire subject specific knowledge through research-informed teaching in lectures and workshops/practicals. The scheme will provide suitable training for you to develop a career in environmental, ecological or biological sciences through professional practice or to continue on to a relevant masters scheme.
The course provides an opportunity for postgraduate learning and professional development for those who are unable to commit to a full MSc programme. It can be taken as an intensive course over one or two terms, or could be spread over two years for those studying part-time. The award of a PgCert requires the successful completion of four 15 credit modules, selected from the modules available on the MSc Ecology and Conservation Programme.
