Lancaster University receives over 300 undergraduate students each year on its Study Abroad and Exchange Programme.
"Study Abroad" is the term generally applied to students wishing to spend a period from 3-10 months at an overseas university taking courses for credit towards their home degrees. You can either pay tuition fees or be part of a formal exchange programme.
Exchange students are not required to pay tuition fees to Lancaster, this includes the Erasmus programme.

Financial information
BUTEX Student Scholarships
Each year BUTEX awards sixteen scholarships to students studying abroad for either a semester or for a whole academic year.
Eight scholarships are available to UK students studying abroad in the USA or Canada and a further eight scholarships are available to North American students studying in the UK.
The value of each scholarship is £500 and will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university.
Applications will be accepted from January 2011 and the deadline for all applications will be the 31st May 2011. The application period for 2010 is now closed.
