Stefan Collini (Professor Emeritus of English Literature at the University of Cambridge) in conversation on and around: themes and problems within postgradaute research in the humanities
Tuesday 7th October, 3-4.30pm – University Suite, The Castle
Discussion with graduate students (Chair: Prof Chris Macleod) – but all welcome
‘This seminar is intended primarily for PhD students in humanities subjects, but others who are interested are welcome. The purpose is to share thoughts and ideas, problems and concerns, that arise from the practice of research. The session will be informal and will focus on collective discussion of particular issues raised by participants, so everyone is encouraged to come with some question or example growing out of their research that they would like to see discussed. To provide a stimulus to discussion, I attach a lecture I gave to an audience primarily of graduate students in the humanities, addressing their prospects as ‘Early Career Scholars’. Feel free to disregard the lecture if it doesn’t sufficiently speak to your interests’ --Stefan Collini
