Dr Louise Mullagh

Lecturer in Arts Management

Profile

I am Lecturer in Performance and Place, where my research sits at the intersection of performance studies, critical data studies, mobilities and art practice. My work explores how embodied, sensory and more-than-human encounters with place produce forms of knowledge that data-driven and AI-generated approaches cannot replicate. Working primarily in and around Morecambe Bay, I use walking both as a methodological and theoretical practice to argue for the value of repertoire knowledge in an increasingly datafied world.

My wider practice includes roles on coastal adaptation and place-based cultural projects and an interest in interdisciplinary and creative research methods.

I teach on the Theatre and Performance BA and the Theatre for Social, Political and Environmental Change MA.

I am willing to take PhD researchers exploring similar fields across the disciplines in the School of Arts.
