Join Keith Martin for a guest lecture that will explore if quantum computers will spark a security meltdown—or not.

A common security narrative surrounds the coming of Q-Day, when powerful quantum computers will overcome the cryptographic mechanisms that underpin contemporary cyber security.

In this talk we interrogate this narrative. What is Q-Day and is it really coming? What impact might it have on today's cryptography? What should we do about it, if anything? And what role in our (possible) post Q-Day future might technologies such as post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution play?
