Chanting is good for our health. According to recent research, chanting can lower stress hormones, calm our mind, regulate breathing and improve focus. It also helps reduce anxiety and bring a peaceful state to both body and mind.
Daxue, comprised of 1751 Chinese characters, is one of the four Books of Confucianism. Originally a chapter in The Book of Rites, it is traditionally attributed to Zengzi, a disciple of Confucius. It teaches that world peace starts with personal cultivation. From the Song Dynasty onward, it became a basic text for ancient Chinese scholars and greatly influenced Chinese culture.
