Quan Zi, a PhD student from the Lancaster Institute for Contemporary Arts will be running this 2 hour ink painting workshop as part of Light Up Lancaster.
This workshop is open to all members of the community (age 18 and over).
Level: Beginner
Workshop content:
1. Introduction to Chinese traditional painting materials(Talk 10 mins)
2. Try to use the brush/ink on rice paper :
Skill of Brush-中锋ZhongFeng/侧锋CeFeng/逆锋NiFeng (10min demonstration+20mins Practice )
3. Try to Paint a Traditional ink Tree(10min demonstration+20mins Practice)
4. Try to Paint a Traditional ink House(10min demonstration+20mins)
5. Free Painting - Try to create a complete ink painting(20mins)
Please note that you may wish to bring an apron with you as you will be working with ink.
