Professor Charlotte Baker will be in Geneva from 12-15 June to participate in events at UNESCO and the UN Human Rights Council.

Charlotte is an invited speaker at an event to mark International Albinism Awareness Day 2023 on this year’s theme, ‘Inclusion is strength’, which is being organized by UNESCO International Bureau of Education, the UN Independent Expert on Albinism, the Global Albinism Alliance and the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for the fight against Racism and Discrimination.

Charlotte will also be leading a Side Meeting of the 53rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council with Dr Samantha Spence (Staffordshire University) at the Palais des Nations. The meeting is part of their continued work with The International Network Against Accusations of Witchcraft and Associated Harmful Practices and other partners to promote the UN Resolution on Harmful Practices related to Accusations of Witchcraft, which was passed in July 2021.

Charlotte’s participation in these events is funded by a grant from the AHRC Impact Acceleration Account.
