Graduate Teaching AssistantResearch Overview
I am a sociologist of migration with a focus on asylum and humanitarian protection, with eight years of experience working with migrant and refugee communities. My ESRC-funded doctoral research developed the concept of 'careless bordering', exploring how state indifference shapes asylum systems and how people respond through practices of care and resistance. My current research explores care and migration, everyday practices of care, and the intersections of asylum and welfare restructuring. I have a keen interest in public engagement, writing for The Big Issue and Transforming Society, and co-hosting Season 2 of the Between Borders podcast.
