Philosophy in the Real World: A one-day Philosophy Workshop for Yrs 11-13 hosted by Lancaster University, supported by the Royal Institute of Philosophy

Philosophy in the Real World

  • Could AI robots be permitted to replace doctors or carers?
  • Should potential parents be able to pre-select their children’s abilities?
  • Is climate change YOUR problem?

Expert philosophers and current students of philosophy will guide you in thinking through thought-provoking and challenging social questions via structured small-group thought-experiments with fellow students across the North West.

The event is free to Yr11-13 students and accompanying staff from across the North West. Refreshments, lunch and on-site parking provided free. Bursaries for travel may be available. Online access to topic introductions and adapted study packages may be available for schools / colleges unable to attend in person.

Places are limited and pre-registration is mandatory. Only available to students in Yr11-13 and accompanying (pre-registered) staff.
