Research Interests

I am a medievalist with a particular interest in lordship and power structures in the north of England. My PhD examined political society in the medieval honour of Pontefract between the twelfth and late fifteenth centuries. Since 2010, I have worked on a number of research projects that have focused on local and regional history, with particular emphasis on encouraging public engagement with history and heritage. I have an MA in Museum Studies from the University of Newcastle.
