Rebecca Bowman, LICA’s first BA(hons) Placement Year student, will return to finish her studies in fine art in October bearing a prize. Her year of training at Reyntiens Studio, the internationally renowned stained glass workshop in London, has been creatively demanding and exciting. It also resulted in one of her glass designs winning a prize in the 2019, Stevens New Glass Artist of the Year competition.

Awarded by the Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters, one of the City of London’s medieval Livery Companies, dating back to 1328, Becky’s prize was sponsored by Chris Seow. Founder of Reflections of the Lord Mayor, a not-for-profit philanthropic venture supporting young people in arts education, Chris said: “I am delighted to support a design prize to help encourage young people in the arts, and Rebecca Bowman is a worthy winner.

We look forward to Becky returning to Lancaster’s fine art studios with her professional practice experience and new found skills and enthusiasm.
