I am a corpus linguist and discourse analyst with a particular interest in health-related communication. I am Associate Editor of the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics (John Benjamins) and sit on the editorial boards of the journals Applied Corpus Linguistics and Research in Corpus Linguistics. I am a member of the AHRC's Peer Review College and the Executive Committee of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL). I am currently the convenor of BAAL's Corpus Linguistics Special Interest Group.
PhD Supervision Interests
I am interested in supervising PhD projects addressing the topics of corpus linguistics, (critical) discourse studies, multimodality, health communication, or a combination of these.
