Funded Projects/Initiatives

The MIRL team works on a number of funded projects and initiatives.

  • pro²: The pro² network+ is a UKRI (United Kingdom Research and Innovation) funded network that aims to democratise digital device production. We want to make it easier for people to make digital devices.
  • REPLICATE: The REPLICATE projects addresses the challenges of moving from a prototype device to multiple copies – isotypes – is what the REPLICATE project aims to overcome.
  • Blended Learning for STEM teaching. This project aims to work with local educators in lower secondary schools to leverage a new learning experience, MicroCode, where students use a micro:bit without a costly PC to engage in problem-solving activities that underpin STEM subjects.
  • Critical Thinking & Gender Bias: CARE-Kids addresses the critical need for enhancing digital equity by empowering children to recognise and mitigate gender biases in generative AI images.
