Lancaster University’s new Engineering Building has been nominated for the Prime Minister’s Award, the highest accolade of the British Construction Industry Awards.
The Award is presented annually by the Cabinet Office and recognises new “publicly funded construction projects that are completed on time, on budget and bring real change to their local community.”
The new eco-building, which officially opened on 4 March, is equipped with the highest standard of facilities, with purpose-built workshops, teaching laboratories and office areas.
Previous award winners include the Medmerry Flood Defence Scheme, Tate Modern and the Velodrome at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The award for the winning project will be presented at the British Construction Industry Awards ceremony in Park Lane, London on 14 October.
