Lancaster University’s new Engineering Building is the winner of a British Construction Industry award.
Announced yesterday (14 October) at a special ceremony in London, the eco-building has won the ‘Building Project of the Year’ category for projects up to £10m.
This latest award is one of a number of accolades the building has received since opening on 4 March this year – including a National Award, a Sustainability Award and a Regional Award from the Royal Institute of British Architects.
The building boasts state-of-the-art facilities for multi-disciplined engineering, with specially designed workshops and laboratories - you can explore them by viewing this video.
It is part of a £450m spend on the University’s campus over the last decade, with a further £135m planned over the next three years.
The building was designed by internationally-renowned architects John McAslan + Partners, and the Lancashire-based company Eric Wright Construction Ltd. were the building contractors.
