Top ten position in two national league tables and highest ranking university in the North West.
Lancaster University has risen two places to be ranked 8th in the Guardian University Guide 2017, published on 23 May 2016.
The Guardian league table combines scores for the aspects of university life that matter most to students. Lancaster’s score has risen for overall satisfaction, teaching satisfaction, assessment and careers.
A number of subjects were also ranked in the top ten - Business, Management and Marketing (8th ); Mechanical Engineering (2nd); Accounting and Finance(8th); Mathematics (6th); Sociology (4th);Religious Studies (10th);Geography and Environmental Studies (5th); Chemical Engineering(6th);Drama and Dance (5th) and History(7th)
The latest result comes on the back of Lancaster’s ranking of 9th for the second year in a row in The Complete University Guide 2017 league table.
Professor Mark E. Smith, Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University welcomed the news. He said: “I am delighted that the reputation of our university is reflected in high rankings year-on-year in the UK's major university league tables.
