Dr Alison Stowell has attended 2degrees’ celebratory launch of Manufacture 2030 at the Shard in London.

2degrees is the leading provider of collaboration platforms for sustainable business and Manufacture 2030 is their latest release. The global online platform brings together retailers, brands and their manufacturing suppliers to share solutions focused on reducing environmental impacts, risks and costs.

Around 150 retail and manufacturing experts attended the event. Set in the Shard, in London, guests were welcomed to network and enjoy the panoramic view across London before being invited to find out more about the opportunities this new platform could provide.

Martin Chilcott, CEO and founder of 2degrees, reminded guests that:“The case for sustainable business has never been stronger and now with Manufacture 2030, it has just got a lot easier through cross-industry collaboration”.

Other speakers included Gail Klintworth - the Business Transformation Director at the Business Commission, Sara Wakefield – Food Sustainability Manager at the Co-operative Group, Mark Rose – Head of National Sales at RWE npower, Ian Knight – Global Site Sustainability Manager at Mars and Professor Steve Evans – University of Cambridge.

The launch event provided the perfect opportunity for exploring the new platform and building relationships with leaders in these fields.

Dr Stowell said: "The platform has the potential to revolutionise manufacturing at scale, we heard how companies can share and solve problems up, down and across supply chains. With 2degrees’ innovative solution it is possible to scale up change quickly, reducing resource usage, lowering risk and environmental impacts".
