Victoria Canning researches border harms and zemiology, torture, and sexualised violence. She is Professor of Criminology, Visiting Professor of Sociology of Law at Lund University, Co-Chair of Statewatch, Associate Director of Border Criminologies at Oxford University, Consultant Editor at Justice, Power and Resistance, and co-editor of the Emerald Activist Criminology series. Victoria has written/edited 7 books, developed the Supporting Survival Toolkit with the Danish Institute Against Torture, co-created the Right to Remain Asylum Navigation Board (with Lisa Matthews); was consultant for the BAFTA award winning series Exodus: Our Journey to Europe and won the 2018 British Society of Criminology Book Prize.
