Our on campus learning

We have some outstanding resources including fully equipped laboratories for eye-tracking, phonetics, EEG (Electroencephalography) and child language analysis. We are home to the British National Corpus, the famous multi-million word language resource, the latest version of which we released at the end of 2021.

Our online learning

Our online learning postgraduate courses are aimed at those wishing to enhance their careers by learning flexibly – from home, work, or wherever and whenever is convenient. There's no need to relocate to Lancaster or take a career break; you can gain relevant knowledge and skills by studying alongside your ongoing professional and personal commitments.

Short online courses for credit

As an alternative to taking a complete Master's or Postgraduate Certificate programme, you can take our individual specialist postgraduate courses for institutional credit. These are ideal if you need to develop knowledge and skills in a specific area. Courses are currently available on topics in Corpus Linguistics and in Language Testing. Each course can be taken separately; they run for one term (three months) and are offered online.
