Research Overview

My main area of research is Pragmatics, with a particular focus on (im)politeness. In my PhD thesis, I examine impoliteness reciprocity in Chinese insults. I am also interested in analysing other pragmatic acts (e.g. compliments) and in applying pragmatic perspectives to online communication.
