My research explores the impact of large social changes on local dialect and speech. I am drawing on archival and contemporary data to analyse, promote, and curate the rich intangible heritage of Lancaster. My supervisors are Prof. Claire Nance and Dr. Danielle Turton.
This part-time collaborative doctoral award is supported by the North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership (NWCDTP) and is being carried out in partnership with Lancashire Archives.
Career Details
In addition to my part-time PhD, I am the Impact Development Manager for the Faculty of Science and Technology. I am working with three departments (Engineering, Physics, and LEC) to prepare for the REF2029 submission. I previously also worked with these three departments to prepare and finalise their impact case studies for REF2021.
My other roles have included project managing three large research grants: TAS-S (EPSRC) and PROMIS and IDEAS (both H2020), supporting the delivery of teaching modules as Part I co-ordinator for Physics, managing the welfare support available to students as Senior Advisor for Cartmel College, supporting the University's senior management team as PA to the former Pro-VC (Research) and Pro-VC (International), and working alongside SMEs and national organisations in executive education.
