Research Overview

My research interests are widening participation, social justice and equity within higher education, particularly how widening access/participation students negotiate complex spatio‑temporal, digital and institutional demands, shaping what forms of particpation becomes possible.

I am interested in how hybrid learning environments, sociomaterial arrangements and organisational routines shape students’ lived experiences and how they navigate conflicting temporal and spatial demands across study, work, caring responsibilities, commuting and digital engagement.

I also have an interest in assumptive policymaking in higher education and the impact of this on widening participation students experience.
