Research Overview

Cath is a registered Social Worker and lecturer in social work. She specialises in social work with young people and especially those who have experienced trauma. She is particularly known for her research with young people affected by national disasters and working collaboratively with disaster planning organisations to advocate for targeted and consistent support services for adolescents affected by traumatic, critical incidents. Her Bee the Difference Project focuses on young people affected by the Manchester Arena suicide bombing and is a project devised and delivered in collaboration with young people. Cath sits on a number of advisory boards, including with the National Emergencies Trust, the European Union's Radicalisation Awareness Network and the New York based charity, Strength to Strength.
