Meeting Venue

StochMod 2018 will take place in The Conference Centre located on the Lancaster University campus just opposite the Management School.

Conference Centre

Lancaster University Management School

Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) is quadruple-accredited, typically ranked among the UK’s top ten and among the world's top 100 business schools. In the latest assessment of British higher education institutions (REF 2014), LUMS was ranked top business school in the UK for 'research power'.

School's Department of Management Science is one of the best-known, largest and longest established centres for operational research and systems thinking in Europe, going back to the 1960s. Its staff members have edited key journals, such as the Journal of the Operational Research Society and the European Journal of Operational Research, and have played a pivotal role in UK-wide innovations in the subject, such as the Lancs Initiative, which sought to develop the foundations of OR and attracted the largest amount of funding to support the development of OR anywhere in the world. It has a strong commitment to produce research of practical importance, capitalising on its tradition of collaborative research with industry. This is typified by STOR-i - the Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistics and Operational Research in Partnership with Industry - a joint venture with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
